CollegiateSkate is a Skate Canada program which offers customized opportunities for university student athletes. The program brings skaters of various test levels and competitive backgrounds together to skate as a team representing their university. Skaters participate in a variety of events such as singles, dance, pairs and synchronized skating and based on their placements in these events, accumulate points for their team. The university with the highest point total wins the overall competition. Our goals include hosting, in partnership with the University of Calgary, the first annual Western Canadian CollegiateSkate Championship and eventually, the first ever CIS Figure Skating Championship (varsity figure skating is not yet part of Canadian Interuniversity Sports). To do this, Glacier requires your help. If you are a student at one of the following universities and you are interested in participating in a CollegiateSkate competition or varsity figure skating in general, please let us know:
Attention Calgary area High School Students Glacier is also interested in organizing an annual CollegiateSkate event for high school students. Annual competitions for high school skaters are currently being held in certain areas of Ontario, Quebec, and BC. We would like to have these being held in Alberta too. Please let us know if you are interested and what school you would be representing. S k a t i n g S e s s i o n s
